Headed into spring training the Cardinals GM Hall has made a HUGE splash in both off-season free agency and off-season trades. For those of you kinda out in left field on who's going to be a team to beat in the NL central we will recap our off-season. Lets keep in mind last years Cardinals team finished with a horrid 82-80 record.
Defense
C: Russell Martin
The 27yr old backstop signed a 5yr 10M dollar contract this off-season. Martin had the worse season he has ever had last season with a .232avg and 7hrs but he had a .332obp with 50rbi and 7 stolen bases. We feel he's a complete Catcher.
1B: Mark Teixeira
The switch hitting clean up man. In a deal that sent top prospect Shelby Miller and young MLB talent Michael Saunders and Everth Cabrera to NY the Cards solidify there line-up with the 120M dollar man.
2B: Brandon Phillips
The front office is hella stoked about the addition of Phillips. A number 1 or 2 hitter would would be a .280-25hr-25sb at either slot. Consider a modern day Rickey Henderson without blazing speed ofcourse. Plus that glove, the Cards do have the best defensive IF in the NL.
3B: Scott Rolen
The return of Rolen. Brought back again for his glove we felt he was a huge upgrade of David Freeze. The perfect 5th hitter, Rolen should he 80rbi+ is he stays healthy.
SS: Brendon Ryan
One position where the Cards failed to upgrade. Ryan was lost at the plate last season, batting .251. As of right now FA Barney Barwin is in competition with Ryan over the starting job. Time will tell who rides pine.
LF: Albert Pujols
Back to his natural position, or was that 3B? Anyways anyways who better to replace Matt Holliday? Upgrades are the name of the game and Albert upgrades anybody at almost anywhere. Plus it seems El Hombre' will be in St. Louis for a very long time.
CF: Colby Rasmus
Only hit .250 last season but had 22 bombs. Rasmus will be given the chance to open the season in CF but we will have a quick trigger if he dont pan out. Rookie Jon Jay is hot on his track and it could be interesting to see who wins the job. Rumor has it the Cardinals are shopping Rasmus as I type this.
RF: Skip Schumaker/Nick Stavinoha
Stavinoha is listed as the starter but its had to bench a guy like Schumaker. Most likely both will be seeing playing time whether Skip spells at 2B or RF. Stavinoha's contact bat and fielding makes him a hot commodity to the ball club.
Bench:
Jon Jay OF
Ruben Gotay IF
Allen Craig LF/3B
Jesus Flores C
Barney Darwin (pending FA) IF
Our batting order would look something like this:
1. Brandon Phillips
2. Russell Martin
3. Albert Pujols
4. Mark Teixeira
5. Scott Rolen
6. Colby Rasmus
7. Nick Stavinoha
8. Brenden Ryan
9. Starting Pitcher
Part 2 coming soon, pitching.

Bye Bye Kyle Loshe
Fresh off the press. The Cardinals of St. Louis have canned Starting Pitcher Kyle Loshe.
Loshe whom was a 15 game winner last season, as well as a 14 game loser has been told by GM Mike Hall he has been outright released. Loshe whom was due 11.87M this season and next has fallen off over the off-season. Catcher and cowboy wanna be Jason LaRue has been quoted in saying he dont like Loshe nor his tribe and his pitches suck and have zero movement.
Loshe fired back and said LaRue had ate too much skoal behind the plate and was farting all night long every time Loshe pitched. With a pissed off umpire it a miracle he was able to win 10 games let alot 15.
GM Mike Hall said to two act too much like a gay married couple and it was making the players very uncomfortable. There was numerous "inside" joke about dropping the soap circulating the dugout and clubhouse. LaRue has stated that Indian skin is some of the softest he has ever felt and he hopes to re-unite again one day.
So as Loshe packs his bags one would wonder where he might go next. One source says CIN could be a great spot. After rival GM Han "Dirk" Ram has taken over that team as GM rumor has it he is pro-trade as he has already made deals to bring Import Jose Reyes to the ball-club. Dirk was quoted in saying. Imports, Exports, Gays, Non-Gays, Men, Women, Children who the hell cares, I just wanna beat StL. This rivalry has been going on for almost a year. The two GM have always pushed each other, it goes all the way back to those "Dugout" days. Where Dirk's teams always won the division but Hall's teams always swept him in the NLCS on his way to a WS title.
So in closing Superman Says!: Bye to 11M in cap. Kyle Loshe you will not be missed. Maybe I am bitter due to the "real" deal but 11M for a crap pitcher only because Scott Boras is you agent and you actually had a decent year on you FA season. Okay, back on target, whew yea... Bye Bye Mr. Loshe.
Disclaimer: All pokes at HanRam are just jokes, he have alot of history and we like battling each other. I know he pushes me as a GM. All the "Indian" jokes to Kyle Loshe are.. Well I am Cherokee Indian myself soooo. And all the gay jokes, tough shit.

The Holliday is over.
Holliday shown here cost the Cardinals a playoff game is 2009 because he was choking on a sun flower seed in the 6th inning.
In return for Santa the Cardinals received all-star and gold golve 2nd basemen Brandon Phillips. Phillips had a down season last year but at 29 years old the Cards expect him to make a great return. GM Hall was quoted in saying " Anytime you have a chance to add the top 2B in the NL you jump on that. His bat, speed, power and glove make him a valuable assett. He will be out starting 2B and bat number 2 in the order". I'm no genius but a guy like Phillips hitting in front of Albert Pujols could be deadly Off-Season in the Lou
The off-season is here and the GM of the Cardinals is active as hell trying to bring yet another title to his impressive resume that already features over 10 mogul world series title already.
Priority number 1 was a closer. When new GM Phil posted on the chat box Heath Bell was available for trade we just had to have him. the price was heavy as we sent C prospect Bryan Anderson plus two MiLB starters for him(Bell). When asked why Anderson Hall replied " Why not? We already have .300 hitting, rockett arm and gold glove catcher Yadi Molina behind the plate. Not to mention Mrs. Molina, you ever tasted her taco?"
Priority number 2: A wicked fast leadoff man. In the Bell deal we landed Evereth Cabrera. A speed demon shortstop with absolutely no glove. When asked about Cabrera glove Hall responded " I dont know" Maybe his wife has a nice taco too??

One on one with the boss
Superman: I sit here with First Class Mogul founder Scotty. Scotty how are you today?
Scott: I am great. Nothing like a long 3 day weekend.
Superman: Lets start from the begining, what got you into mogul in the first place.
Scott: I believe it was back in the winter of '07. I was reading an Angels message board and saw a post to "become a GM", so I explored and found myself in the old MLB Clubhouse mogul. Been addicted ever since
Superman: Since those MLB clubhouse days what made you deceide to make the venture into becoming a league commish?
Scott: Well, I wanted to have a league with all the features that I liked. Creating a league is a ton of work, but it's always fun if its exactly what you want in a league.
Superman: For the new members of FCM that do not know you, what type of qualifcations do you have for being successful?
Scott: Wow, your taking me back now Superman. I have ran 3 or 4 leagues I believe. Unfortunately, I made some bad choices along the way with staff choices. My best run was my most recent Extra Innings Mogul which died at the beginning of the 4th year. But now with Dejota, and TheBigBomber, I feel this is the top league out there now
Superman: Since you mentioned you "co-commishes" lets talk about them for just a second. I was at FCM in the begining and recall a wait at first for the league file. I know Dejota worked long and hard on that and made one of the better files I have seen. Would you mind talking about the file for a minue.
Scott: Well, from the beginning long-term success was our goal. We did not want to inflate the file. So Dejota edited based off long term predictions and Baseball America predictions, and we were off...
Superman: Season one is in the books and the league is still full with people on the waiting list wanting in. What can we expect for season 2?
Scott: Season 2 should be interesting. Earlier tonight we released a re-vamped Agent system, and Type A/B guidelines. But overall, much of the same. Active nights, smart trades, and many surprises. The staff has something very special for amatuer draft 2011, to be annouced soon.
Superman: Sounds great, Is there anything you would like to mention before we make it a wrap?
Scott: With our core of GM's, I see no reason to stop us from reaching 10+ seasons. First Class will go down in the record books.
Superman: I agree with you. Scotty I would like to thank you for you time tonight. And I hope that First Class mogul does last 10+ seasons. Good Luck to you and your staff.
Scott: Thanks Superman. It was great chatting.
Superman Says!: If you are looking for a good league with lots of features, a solid file, a great staff and good people then 1st class is the place.
