Don Wakamatsu Fired and the New "Manager"

Don Wakamatsu has been fired from the Seattle Mariners managerial job.

Q:Why did he get fired?

A: With seasons of 69-93, 64-98, 46-116, 54-108, and another terrible start to 2015, the owner and I thought it was time for a change. Wins has been decreasing each year, yes I know we aren't a proud franchise like the cardinals, yankees, or red sox, but we deserve the chance to compete each year and not take this long to rebuild. We were very disappointed to do this, but we thought it was time for a change. I know us losing so much is some of my fault but all the blame can't be put on me. We wish Don best of luck for the rest of his career.

Q: Who will be the new manager of the Seattle Mariners for right now?

A: We have made a decision that our manager for the rest of this year will be Eric Wedge. We will re-evaluate this team at the end of the year and if this team does well under Wedge, we will keep Wedge at the manager position, but if he doesn't do well, he will move to the bench coach spot and then we will go out and look for a new manager.

Q: Have you thought of any choices if Wedge doesn't do well?

A: We will not think about this right now, we have faith in Wedge to turn this around.

Q: How will you try to help Wedge?

A: We will try to do everything possible to help wedge win here.

One last question:

Q:Could you have done a better job helping Don and will you help Wedge more than you did Don?

A: We will not be answering this question.

"I am very excited for this oppurtunity to manage THE SEATTLE MARINERS and return them to their winning ways like before." Wedge said
