GM William Heaney is looking like a genius

Since Heaney joined the Minnesota Twins they have been on Fire! The Twins stated 2-10 when they decided to search for a new GM. Since Heaney was hired the Twins have gone 31-21 and are 1 game back from the AL central lead. The Twins have had this success under Heaney well they are trying to cut payroll and rebuild.

Heaney has shown a good eye for talent too. He traded OF Nick Markakis to the Jays for C Daniel Lehmann. Lehmann who has never played in more then 75 games in a season has been on fire for the Twins. Lehmann has a .306 avg .518 slg and a .836 ops in 85 at bats with the Twins. Heaney said "Lehmann was picked up for he's defence but his hot offensive start has been a nice surprise". Other players enjoying success with the Twins that Heaney picked up are RP Scott little and RP Vinny Mannheimer. Little a 22 year old who is the Twins new closer has posted a 2.37 era and 11 saves in 12 appearances. Mannheimer 24 appeared in 23 games with the Twins, a career high. He has gone 2-1 with a 2.67 era in 27 innings pitched.

Heaney also had this to say about the team "we are playing good baseball right now and hanging on in the central, im proud of the boys they are battling every night".

Come out to the ballpark Monday night and see if your Twins can sweep the Reds in the final game of 3. Shooter Hunt is expected to get the start, good seats still available!
