ALDS
NYY vs CLE
The Yankees will be without soon-to-be Rookie of the Year Ramon Castillo and top tier starter Pat Venditte, but I still think they will be too much for the Indians. Cleveland did well to grab the wildcard spot, but I'm not sure they have the pitching needed to advance to the ALCS.
Prediction: NYY 3-1
OAK vs KC
Oakland finished the season with the second-best record in the AL. That said, the AL West is widely acknowledged as the worst division in FCM. There was literally nobody competing with Oakland in that division, while KC was forced to fight it out all season over the likes of the CLE, MIN, & DET. I think Oakland's lineup will struggle against KC's rotation, and we will see a KC vs NYY postseason series for the 3rd time in 4 years.
Prediction: KC 3-1
NLDS
HOU vs NYM
The Mess won 8 of their last 10 games to take the NL Wildcard spot. Their reward? Getting an NLDS rematch against the team with the NL's best record. Last season Houston took the series pretty easily in 4 games, but that was last season. How much different will this season's series be? Not very.
Prediction: HOU 3-1
FLA vs SD
San Diego held on to take the NL West crown by winning a 1-game playoff over SF. However, SD just doesn't have the pitching to overcome the back-to-back-to-back NL East Champ Marlins. Pace & Co should be able to make quick work of this Padres squad.
Prediction: Fla 3-0
ALCS
NYY vs KC
This would be the 3rd time these two teams met in the postseason in four years, with the previous 2 series going the distance. I see KC's lineup being a bat or 2 short again of advancing past the Yankees. With both rotations and bullpens being about even, the deeper NYY lineup will be the difference in this one.
Prediction: NYY 4-2
NLCS
HOU vs FLA
A rematch of last season's NLCS where Florida mounted a comeback from a 3-1 deficit to take the series. Last season it was Houston's injuries that doomed them, but this season it is Florida that already has injury problems. If Houston's rotation can stay healthy this postseason, they should be able to avenge their loss from last season.
Prediction: HOU 4-3
World Series
NYY vs HOU
Another rematch, this one from the 2012 World Series where catcher Taylor Teagarden led Houston to a four games to one series victory. However, Teagarden has struggled this season and NYY's rotation is notably better than it was in previous seasons. I see Lincecum & Co. fairing better this time around, giving the Yankees back-to-back World Series crowns.
Prediction: NYY 4-3
