The great pennant race...or so we wish
While there are spots to be decided, for the most part everything seems in order for the playoffs. The one race that is still very close is between San Francisco and Colorado. Having said that any other races are a mininum of five games out. Sadly this means the only likely the only drama will be home field advantage and who will be the most derserving in the weak NL west

D-Backs fire pitching coach. Manager likely next.
In an expected devolpment the Arizona Diamondbacks have fired their pitching coach on September 10. He will remain on to finish the rest of the year as he was given the choice of leaving or finishing up the year. The dbats pitching's era is third worse in Major League Baseball. This of course leads to the question of what will happen at the end of the season with manager Bob Melvin.
It is very clear gm Patrick is not very happy with this year's result "The team is clearly not where we expected. Of course you cant help the injury bug hitting many of our veteran players." When asked about Melvin's status as manager "He is our manager for the rest of the year. Of course like anything else his status will be reviewed once the season has ended and not anytime before that."
