FCM TIMES (playoff edition)
Playoff preview: Florida Marlins Today we take a look at powerhouse Florida. They have a huge amount of talent and in this bloggers opinion should be considered the heavy favorite: Strengths: Their pitching staff is loaded starting with Donovan Pace and Brett Hunter who are both cy favorites. Lead by an incredible staff the marlins have the nation league's best total era. Their closer Ward Bradley is a toguh staff to match. Offense wise the marlins have some pop with 5th of their guy potentially hitting more than 20 hrs this year. Their leadoff hitters Jorge Vasquez (65) and strange-Gordon (42) get into scoring position for the big hitters. Weaknesses: Would also be the lead off hitters as they and the team in general dont have a high on base percentage. If you manage to keep these two off the basepaths, then you maybe able to keep this lineup in check. Dark Horse: I think Gabe Anwyl will be a player to watch. While not in the same category as pace, this pitcher represents a tough task to beat. And with Pace and Hunter as the numbe rone and two startes beating Anwyl is a must for any team. Final points: Florida is a team you must try and score runs against as their pitching staff is second to none. They may not have the best lineup but they can beat you 2-1 on most days. So a team has to try and turn the game into a 7-6 type affair if they have a shot at winning. I dont see the lather in all likelyhood occuring.
