On the heels of a heart-breaking loss in Game 7 of the World Series, the Toronto Blue Jays have given their fans a reason to celebrate. Following the season, Toronto will be parting ways with Adeiny Hechavarria and Kenny Wilson, ending their long tenures with the team. As a result, the team wants to celebrate their accomplishments with the team and relive some of their best moments.
Adeiny Hechavarria: Adeiny played 9 seasons in Toronto. During that time he won two World Championships, 2 Gold Gloves, went to an All-Star game once, was named World Series MVP in 2018 and 2021, and was part of 7 AL East championships and 4 AL Championships. Adeinny hit 188 homeruns, 1,122 hits, 628 RBIs, 85 stolen bases.
Adeiny's World Series exploits have made him a Blue Jays legend. In 2018 Adeiny hit .450 with three homeruns, 5 RBI, 2 stolen bases, and 6 runs scored.
Kenny Wilson: Kenny played his entire career to date, 11 seasons, with the Blue Jays. During that time he is a one-time All-star, two time World Series winner, 4 time AL champion, and 7 time AL East champion. Kenny had over 1400 hits, 192 home runs, nearly 1000 runs scored, 87 triples, over 800 RBIs, 161 SBs, and a career .841 OPS.
In the playoffs, Kenny has scored 58 runs, hit 11 homeruns, driven in 46 runs, and stolen 9 bases.
These two men have been cornerstones in an on-going 6 year run of AL East championships including 2 world titles. They will be sadly missed in Toronto as the team transitions to a new era of young guns looking to make their own mark.
