The Braves have fired their SECOND manager of the season today. When Tebow was hired many questioned WHY a former QB was hired as a baseball manager. GM bh1225 told Braves fans to "sit down, and shut up" when the questions arose. The GM has developed an entourage of haters since he took over last off-season. He stripped the team down in a series of trades and Brave fans are sick of waiting. But no move was more hated than the firing of Chipper Jones. This move made the job nearly impossible for Tebow to succeed. Braves GM, bh1225, also claimed: "This move has nothing to do with the fans displeasure of Tebow. I do what I want, if the fans don't like it. Too bad. We are the ONLY team within around 500 miles. I am competing against NO market. Fans will come and I know they'll be praising me once I'm done here."
This was from his press conference that announced the firing, along with the announcement of the new manager:
"I'm not here to beat around the bush. Tim Tebow, you're fired. This will become effective immediately. You missing a Sunday game to go to church is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I'm taking over as manager until we find somebody with a f*ck. That's all I have to say."
As the GM was walking out of the room a reporter asked the question "What will fans think of this BH?!" The GM answered back, without hesitation. "Don't care." As he walked out of the room without even stopping. Will fans ever accept this guy, or will he lose all support of this team?

Bringing back the Tomahawk chop
The Atlanta Braves fans have not had much to "Tomahawk chop" about for years. In the offseason an unusual deal was made. And no, this wasn't a player trade, but a swap of front offices with the New York Yankees. The deal went through minutes after the Toronto Blue Jays became the World Champions of 2030.
Along with that bh1225 has made a few moves to receive a some "familiar faces". The former Yankees GM has already made two deals with his past employers. He has since landed four prospects along with a struggling Edward Clement and starting pitcher, James Fractenberg.
What to expect: The new management fully expects to be compete-able in the 2031 season, in fact it was said this WILL be the Braves first winning season in years. This struggling franchise had no choice but to sit back and watch bh1225 take over. Along with that, the GM has gone under budget for the upcoming season. This is a very powerful team, while it lacks speed and contact. The starting rotation is believed to be the strong suit of this team, with the addition of James Fractenberg, it is solid from top to bottom. Although the bullpen has questions.
What you should know: We are not in full out rebuild mode. With many players on the MLB roster still not peaked, this team should get better year by year. We do plan on making a number of more "minor deals" for improvement, but the plan is to be full out contenders by the 2033 season. What is meant by "full out contenders"? Possible division winners and possibly more. Until then we will not be tanking, or throwing losers on the field. The laughable Braves era has ended. We want to put an end to teams being excited to see us on their upcoming schedule.
Along with the addition of bh1225, he has brought a newly found hope and time will tell what that hope does. We are also GUARANTEEING a winning HEAD-TO-HEAD record against Hokey and his Marlins!

Atlanta Braves: Overview of First 52 games and Draft/TD Plans

Coming into the 2011 season, the Atlanta Braves had high expectations for their squad. The team was looking strong after 2010, but it was clear that a few areas needed work. There was a hole at 3B that needed to be filled, and the GM did just that by signing Jeff Baker to take over duties at third. He has performed very well this season. As of June 1st, he is hitting .310 with 10 HR, 35 RBI, and an OBP of .364. He is also performing well at 3B with just 2 errors so far on the year, which is very good considering he is not a natural third basemen.
Another hole that needed to be cleared up was the back end of the starting rotation. Jair Jurrjens and Tommy Hanson make a great 1-2, but we weren't sure about what to do with the other three spots. Atlanta has a very strong farm system when it comes to starting pitching, so we called up LHP Cole Rohrbough and RHP Paul Clemens to step into the 3 and 4 spots who have been both pitching well in their rookie campaigns. The team recently decided to bring up RHP J.J. Hoover due to an injury. In his first 6 starts as an MLB pitcher, he went 3-0 with a 3.32 ERA and 32 K's in 38 IP. Look for him to permanently take a spot in the rotation in the near future.
As the season started, the Braves took an early jump on the division, and they have done a great job of holding on to it. As of July 1st, the Braves are 31-21 with a three game lead in the NL East. Our top offensive performer has been Ryan Howard, who currently is hitting .314 with 13 HR, 36 RBI, and a .401 OBP. On the pitching end of things, Tommy Hanson has been stellar in 2011. He is 7-0 with a 3.51 ERA and 88 K's in 74 IP. Look for him and Jair Jurrjens (who is 5-3 with a 2.97 ERA) to carry the Braves for the rest of the season.
Going into the Amateur draft, the Braves will likely have the mindset of drafting the best available player. There is not a certain position that they will be drafting for, but if they got put in a position where there were many good choices during their pick, they would lean towards taking a position player who can hit the ball.
As far as things for the trade deadline go, the Braves will definitely be looking to buy. The team is performing well, but there is always room for improvement. If the market allows, the Braves may try to go after a corner outfielder with a good bat and possibly a solid starting pitcher. They will also, as always, be looking to improve their bullpen, which they have been trying to do all season. The Braves seem to be on the right track in 2011 and look for them to make a deep run in the post season if everything goes according to plan.
