Sports teams have come a long way in the last century when players commonly played for the hometown team. This years opening day 25 man roster holds no players that would be considered remotely local (Virginia, Maryland, DC). The map can give you the best idea of where the Nationals players originate from and perhaps where the hot beds of baseball talent grow up. Ohio has the highest concentration with 5 players reigning from the state. Regardless of the hometowns of the players, these players will quickly become fan favorites of the DC fans and will feel like locals in no time.
